I would like to introduce something about myself. My name is …, born on January 02, 2007 and I come from Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong Province. I am writing this letter with the hope that I will be able to receive a Student Visa to have a chance to have a great experience at Kingsway Academy from January 02, 2024.

I am now in grade 11 at Nguyen Khuyen Secondary and High School. I would describe that I am a hard-working and self-disciplined person. The first word, hard-working describes myself when I am into doing things, I will do with my best to approach my target no matter how challenging problems are. The more difficult the problems are, the more ambitious that I have in solving the problems. It is not only challenges me but also it helps me gain important knowledge and experience during the rough period. My GPA and my IELTS certificate show the effort that I always try my best to approach new achievements. The second word, self-discipline describes my characteristic that I usually have my own plan for what I need to do and the targets for my study process. Therefore, when I start to do it, I will do it with 100% of my mental and energy to finish it on time, it gives me more time to learn new skills like cooking, drawing, and playing sports with my friends. From that, I can develop both physically and mentally and they are important experiences for my life. Thanks to that, I become an efficient worker that I can be able to use my characteristics in different types of work. I hope that my characteristics will be further sharpened in Canada, where I have to do everything by myself and I will try my best to adjust to the climate and society in Canada.

That’s the reason why I’ve got a first award in Performing arts activities at my Secondary school, 8.8/10 in GPA in Grade 10, 8.7/10 in GPA in Grade 11, an Essay writing certificate, a 6.5 in IELTS (without skill’s lower than 6.0), an ESL Adventure Program certificate, and a 3-week trip to The United State in Wisconsin and Illinois for scholarship.

After researching, considering many courses and universities in different countries, which can suit not only my preferences, but also other factors like family finances, friendly environment and so on, I found that Canada could fulfill my expectation. Firstly, Canada is the country that not only provides the high living standard, but also the high quality in healthcare and educational system, especially that many colleges and universities have the acceptable tuition fee with the courses are long enough to study and equip with many practical projects, which is extremely necessary for me – foreign student. Another reason is that Canada is the homeland of vibrant and rich cities in culture, along with the wonderful natural wonders, so I am hungry to broaden the horizon about its culture and experiences all great things in this country. Finally, the supply chain is one of the most essential sectors of Canadian economy, which makes Canada to be my dream destination.

I graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, major in Commercial law in 2000. I have experienced in various roles in different industries from my graduation to now. Since 2008, I had achance to work partially in communications and public relations. At that time, I did recognize that I was reallyinterested in and passionate about communications and public relations. In 2012, I had a great chance to officially workas full time job in communications and public relations for a global healthcare company in Vietnam.

With my current job, I am in charge of media and public relations, corporate communications and corporate socialresponsibility. I really enjoy my works. However, I also found out there were some gaps between my educational background, knowledge and ability in this area and the real job’s requirements to develop the further in this field whenthere is more and more competitive in the labour market.

It cannot stop me reviewing myself and thinking more about my career path, what will be a job, a career I am going to pursue, develop and enjoy of working for the rest of my life and how to bring my professionalism in Public Relations and Communications to the next level – international standards and professionalism. Especially, in Vietnam, Public Relations and Communications are currently at its highest development time when globalizationand digitalization are developing fastest as ever before across all industries, all organizations in the whole country.The employers, especially the global and international companies who are investing and operating in Vietnam, are really looking for experts, who are professional with international standards but they have to understand the local culture and market to take care of public relations and communications for the organization.

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is my choice because of its ranking, location and facilities. With regards to first reason, TRU is at the 48 position in the 2018 Canadian University Ranking by the uniRank page, which demonstrates that TRU could be the good place for both domestic and international students because of its qualified educational system and diversity of programs, including Supply Chain and Logistics. The second reason is that TRU is located in Kamloops, British Columbia, which has the friendly environment, fresh air, four distinct seasons – that never in my life had I had the chance to suffer in Vietnam and be a quiet place with spectacular natural views – the best condition for focusing on studying. As far as TRU’s facilities is concerned, this place provides the amazing fitness facilities, like swimming, gymnastics, which suits my daily routine of doing exercises as well as building up more relationships with foreign friends to learn more about their cultural identities.

So after studying in Columbia International College, I plan to apply for the University of Toronto, because this school is well-known at Arts and Science for the other 4 years to get bachelor degree. After that, I want to take a year for internship in European country, maybe in France or Italia, because I really admire the European architecture and hope I can broaden my horizons as much as possible. When I get enough experience that I need; I intend to get back to Viet Nam, apply for well-reputed interior design company like Thai Cong Interior Design- a famous interior designer follow French style, or I can start up my own career. I know it’s not easy as it sounds, but I will try my best to get my dream come true.

Turning to my further plan after studying in Canada, I will probably return to Vietnam due to many reasons. As I have mentioned above, my career is in its early stage and has the potential to grow exponentially in the near future. And of course, this infant industry really needs a lot of well-qualified workers, especially foreign workers so that it can grow in a decent way to compete with other nations. Until then, I will willingly return to my home country with every experiences that I will have learnt from your country to guide this industry in the right path. The second reason for my returning to Vietnam is to take care of my family since most of my relatives stay in Vietnam and the bonds we shared are so intimate that in the past, it was difficult for me to get separated from them, let alone going abroad like this; however, I have grown mature enough to take care of myself and I believe that when I am successful enough and return to my country, they will be totally proud of me.
